Tour Details

Day 1: From NJP / Bagdogra transfer to Namchi. Night stay there.

Day 2: After breakfast start for Ravangla. After lunch complete Ravangla local sight seeing including Buddha park. Night stay at Ravangla.

Day 3: After breakfast proceed to Pelling. Pelling is a  place to fully enjoy the Eastern Himalayan range with snow caped mountains leading by Mt. Kanchanjungha. Overnight stay at Pelling.

Day 4: After breakfast visit Darap Village, Rimbi water falls, Rimbi Rock gardens, Kanchanjungha water falls & Khechiperi Lake, one of the holy Buddhist lakes. After lunch go for Pemayangtse Monastery, Rabedentse Ruins ( 2nd capital of Sikkim), Tikzuk view point and New Helipad ground. Night stay at Pelling.

Day 5: After breakfast transfer to Gangtok. At evening you can stroll on M.G.Marg. Overnight stay at Gangtok.

Day 6: Day out for Chhangu lake (situated at the height of 3780 mtrs with the depth of about 50 ft) and Baba Mandir (memory of Sepoy Harbhajan Singh). Enjoy yak ride around the lake (optional). The oval shaped Chhangu Lake freezes completely during the year specially in winter. From here visit Nathula (Monday closed) if the road is clear. At evening you can take rest or engage in shopping. Sleep at Gangtok.

 

Day 7:  After breakfast pick up from hotel of Gangtok and drop at Lachen. On the way stop for sightseeing spots like Tashi View Point, Kabi Lungtsok, Naga Waterfall, the Confluence of Lachen Chu & Lachung Chu at Chungthang. Lunch will be served on the way. The whole journey is about 6-7 hours’ drive. By evening reach Lachen. Remember that Lachen is located against the backdrop of towering snow peaks, alpine flower valleys, and vast plateau. This is the base for exploring the high altitude Gurudongmar Lake and trekking to Green Lake (Depending upon prior permission). Night stay at Lachen.

Day 8:  At early morning (with packed breakfast) leave for Thangu Village , a remote high altitude village of Tibetan Nomads & Chopta Valley on your way to the Gurudongmar Lake.Thangu valley occupies a very broad valley at the junction of Thangu Chu, Chopta Chu, & Lassur Chu.. Chopta Valley is known for its various types of colourful flowers in the month of May, June & July. Also in the month of Dec & Jan here you can play in the snow. From Chopta Valley drive for another 30kms in 1.5hr to reach Gurudongmar Lake close to Tibet Border. This panoramic lake is the Second highest lake in India. It is considered as one of the sacred lakes of Sikkim both by the Buddhist and the Hindus. The lake is named after Guru Padmasambhava. The lake remains milky in colour throughout the year and it is believed that Guru Padmasambhava had touched the lake while he visited Tibet from this area and hense , a portion of the lake never freezes. After spending half an hour to one hour there, drive back to Lachen through the cold desert till Tibet / China. After lunch, visit the Lachen Monastery and start your journey to Lachung (nearly 50 kms and 2:30 hrs driving) via Chungthang. Visit the Bhim Nala Waterfalls and then  reach Lachung by late afternoon. You can visit Lachung Monastery in the evening. Or enjoy a relaxed evening on banks of river at Lachung Night stay there. 

 

Day 9After breakfast visit Yumthang valley. This valley is famous for the variety of rhododendron in summer. In winter the total area is covered with snow.  From here you can visit Zero (optional). On way back you may visit famous Hot spring which is known for its curative properties of skin diseases Then start for Gangtok covering Phodong monastery if time permits. Return Gangtok in late evening. Overnight stay at Gangtok. 

Day 10:    After breakfast start for local sight seeings. First half covers Hanuman Talk, Ganesh Talk and Tashi view point. After lunch visit  Shanti view point, Botanical garden, The Rumtek monastery / Jhakhri falls (any one), Directorate of Handicrafts & Handlooms (closed on Sunday), cable car (optional), Research Institute of Tibetology  to have a glance of Tibetan Thanka and antics (closed on Sunday) , Do-Dul-Chorten, and flower show. At evening you can stroll on M.G.Marg. Overnight stay at Gangtok.

Day 11: It is your farewell day of your tour. After breakfast transfer to NJP /.Bagdogra and from there start for your sweet home.
